API bug
The security service website claims that the vulnerability was crucial. It shares commonalities with cloud security tools from third parties. such as Cloud Security Posture Management tools, to gather cloud inventory data from the API.
The vulnerability was discovered in Platform’s Cloud Asset Inventory API. Users with this API enabled on Google Cloud were affected. Furthermore, who had cloudasset.assets.searchAllResources access on the relevant Google Cloud environment.
After SADA reported this to Google, the company replicated the issue to prove its presence before correcting the vulnerability. However, SADA warns that consumers may still be affected, and the threat may have lingered after the patch.
SADA explains that it is supporting the customers as they transform their organisations in the cloud. This means maintaining constant vigilance when it comes to security. No public cloud is immune to vulnerabilities. The online security website claims when we discover one, we must all act quickly, collaborate openly, and communicate transparently.
The platform was applauded for responding so quickly and thoroughly when brought this bug to their attention. We are pleased with the effort that SADA’s engineers have made to ensure the security of the clients’ data.
